translation comment # 4 and # 5 (Veronica)

This excerpt enchanted me… I can only hope it will be soon translated in Italy. Usually I prefer totally inexperienced heroines but Francesca is one of a kind indeed!

Thanks for this sneak peek,

Veronica

ps, I forgot one point, I have seen this book is part the Fallen Women series. Which are the other books? I doubt they have been translated in Italian already.

Dear mrs. Chase,

you have an extraordinary gift ! As many Italian readers I have read Lord of scoundrels just recently, and when I ended reading it I asked myself, what is the appropriate category for such a great author ?? is this an entertainment book? Sure it is, but it's also a box full od dreams, motions getting real.

You know what I'd like? I hope a movie is made out of your novel, as for Pride and Prejudice!

I read all your interview holding my breath, I beg your pardon if I'm speaking to you so informally, it's not due to lack of respect, on the contrary I have for you the deepest admiration, but after such an intimate reading of your novels now I feel like writing to a dearest friend.

I read your last excerpt, from your interview I caught your desire to capture with the right accuracy the Venetian atmosphere.

I'm Venetian and my family is coming from generations of Venetians, I grew up in the Fenice, I'm passionate of opera since I was sixteen.

With few strokes of your brush you've been able to paint wonderfully the atmosphere that still today one can breath when entering this theatre. Centuries have passed by but a lot of things haven't changed that much, in the deep of my soul I have often felt a bit like I was a courtesan - Venetian women are a bit special indeed, perhaps it's something that's written in their blood.

I'm waiting for your books' translations and I wish you the greatest international success since very few people deserve it as much as you do!

How nice! A fallen woman at last. World is filled up with fallen heroes imho, while there's not room enough for bad girls.

But is she really "bad", or as unfortunately happens to most heroines, is she as sweet as sugar in the deep of her soul? I hope not. I love naughty babes. My myth is Scarlet in Gone with the wind. If we only had more heroines like that!

I too enjoyed immensely Lord of scondrels and your writing style. And your wonderful secondary characters. I loved Jess' grandmother, I would have liked reading more about her.

One question keeps whirling in my head though, after reading LOS: but do we Italians really have such big noses? poor Dain, all through the book I was imagining him with this huge nose...
