It is unusual to have settings in medieval Italy. I've read other romances set there, but they're not written by an Italian and the books have little to do, if anything, with Italian history.

Readers in the U.S. would love Italian settings as Italy is considered one of the most romantic destinations in the world. But agents and editors can't see outside the box (what is the usual) and expand the market. I am lucky to have found Highland Press who saw the potential in my Italian medievals.
