While reading these excerpts, and those of the others M/M romance writers too, I’ve tried to analyse the reasons of my embarassment concerning gay love stories. I found out that my sensations and reactions, expecially when reading the hottest scenes, changed a lot in comparison to what I feel when reading a classic M/F romance, shifting from identification to voyerism. To say it in simple words, for me it’s really difficult to live the emotions of a M/M couple, my point of view get farer and farer until I happen to watch it from the outside, and maybe, this is the real reason for my embarassment.
*That may be the case, yes. M/M is not for everyone, and it's perfectly okay not to enjoy it. All the same, I really appreciate your taking the time to think about things and post a comment. It can be hard to get into the male perspective, especially when there are two males. There's nothing wrong with that. A lot of women would rather read from the female perspective, and that's great.
I’d like to have an opinion about this from the author too, who is very capable in tuning with the emotions and situations she write about.
*Thank you so much! :-)
I was also wondering if her husband's point of view, helps her “feels” or “describe”.
*It does, yes. He can tell me "no man would act like that" or "a man would feel this in the situation". I also study his speech patterns to figure out how a man would talk. He's very supportive and I value his input.
