In answer to your question, when I say I prefer to write about unusual periods in history, I mean to say that I enjoy researching those settings/eras/events that are not as highly talked or written about.
For example, TORTURED is set in the Dark Ages, a time in medieval history that has little recorded history becasue few at that time knew how to write--I believe that only the monhks kept track of what was going on in the world.
I wanted to see if --under the circumstances--love would find a way to survive such a brutal and cold enviroment.
and too, I had come across a small bit of information that there were indeed--a handful of female executioners in the medieval eras.
That information interested me and caused me to ask how could a woman find herself in such a role? Would it be by choice? Or perhaps it was for other reasons that she was forced into such a dark life?
The obscure events/people in history fascinate me;))
Ciao!
