Hi Marianne, thanks for dropping by. I'm glad the interview pleased you -- feel free to ask any questions we missed. I really appreciate all the translation work that's gone on -- it's brilliant.

The picture in the collage is of Clive Owen, and he has beautiful green-blue eyes. In the collage process, I'm never going to find the exact picture for my Dominic -- his image is clear in my mind, but he's not Clive Owen. It's the expression Clive has in that photo that's important -- tough, confident, a bit of a devil, really, but deep down he's also a little bit vulnerable.

Hi Silvietta, thanks for your lovely comments. I'm afraid you won't see Giles and Elinore's story, apart from what you get in Perfect Waltz. I know all of the secondary characters deserve their own story, and I would happily write them -- I loved Giles and Elinore, too-- but some stories have less 'meat' in them, and so would be too short for a whole book. As for which Italian city I'd use in a book, I'm afraid the only thing to do is for me to come to Italy and let the story guide me to my choice. Research is soooo tough, but somebody has to do it. ;) Seriously, it would probably be somewhere where English people visited in the first quarter of the 18th century. But since people then, as now, loved Italy, there are many wonderful choices. And I do intend to return to Italy in the next few years.

Laura, thank you. Georgette Heyer books are wonderful -- they're my favourite comfort reads. But another writer to try is Eva Ibbotson -- she's superb. She's not publishing any new books -- she's in her 80's now, but she wrote about 7 excellent books for adults, and they'll make you weep for sadness and for joy.
