Infatti la protagonista è Marguerite Argeneau, che è sempre stata la combina-matrimoni della famiglia, è una madre affettuosa che f a di tutto pur di aiutare i propri figli a trovare i compagni a loro destinati. Ora che Marguerite è libera dal suo infernale matrimonio, durato ben 700 anni, con Jean-Claude Argeneau, è finalmente arrivato il suo turno di iniziare un nuovo lavoro ed una nuova vita, e di avere finalmente la possibilità di essere felice.
Un avvertimento: i lettori americani si stanno lamentando, perchè il libro contiene l’albero genealogico della famiglia Argeneau, e questo rovina una parte importante della sorpresa della trama – quindi seguite il loro consiglio, e non andate a guardarlo finché non avete letto la storia!
