Dear Jo,
I have read all your novels which have been translated in Italian, and they are by far the most thought-provoking books I have ever read in the romance genre.
All you have said in this interview agrees with my idea of your work. It is not lighthearted since life seldom is, its most peculiar feature is its deep humanity. I simply adore your stories, I have always found in them something to cherish, to teasure in my heart and soul. Each time I start one of your books my expectation grows at every word, since even if they are romances, I can never fathom what the following page will bring - so I am wholly enthralled by the story and captured by its magic. I have loved all the Compass Club series, but North and Elizabeth have a special place in my heart. I often re-read their story and each time I discover details which I missed in the previous readings. Also in this excerpt, in the dialogue between the two cousins, there are numberless details which make readers think, which seem to suggest caution, which make you hold your breath since you always feel not to have enough elements to state which direction characters will follow, and so you start the following page eager to find it and to know. The choice of words is key. Dialogues are intriguing and agree with the characters' personalities, I have bever found cookie-cutter plot devices in your books.
For all these reasons and more I'll always be a fond reader of your stories.
Thank you so much for being our guest today, it was a pleasure and a honor to meet you, and thanks to March Rose for this great interview :)
