Andreina, I forgot to address your mention of the cover. It was taken at Hever Castle in England. It certainly fits the medieval era.
answer to comment # 3 (Lory)
Ciao Lory:
It's all about the numbers in publishing. In the U.S., editors aren't willing to invest in an author who writes outside the locations associated with medievals (Britain) and who hasn't a huge readership. I find it odd since Italy is considered the most romantic destination in the world. This doesn't seem to apply to contemporaries, though. This is the reason I'm publishing with small presses. I'm hoping to build a readership that will make New York editors see that medieval Italian romance do sell.
Thanks for stopping by.
answer to comment # 5 (Naan)
Naan,
I would love that very much. I have a few publishers interested in my four-book Italian medieval series, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that one will be interested.
Of course, my interest in Italian history comes from my heritage. English was the second language for both my parents. So I was raised very Italian, by American standards. My only regret is not maintaining the language. I have forgotten so much and keep up with it mostly through Italian singers like Paolo Vallesi, Zucchero, Andrea Bocelli, Pavarotti, and from years ago, Al Bano (Carrisi) and Ricchi e Poveri. I have close to 100 cd recordings of various Italian singers.
