FROM LAURA KINSALE
#1 My agent tells me that they are hoping to sell the Italian rights to LESSONS IN FRENCH "soon." It has been sold to Spain under the title "THE LUCKY ONE," so perhaps watch for it under that title in Italian too, later.
Antonella, the hero of LiF is definitely not dark. He's a rogue, and gets himself into trouble often, though. The new book is a comedy of manners, rather than my darker, more intense style. It is a little bittersweet, perhaps, but I hope it will make readers laugh and shed a happy tear at the same time.

#2 Fairy, thank you. The latest of my books translated to Italian is MIDSUMMER MOON, but I'm not sure if it is for sale there yet. I am sometimes the last to know about translations!

#3 LOL Andreina, that would be a sight to see you swimming from Sardinia. I used some photos from there when I was imagining the island where Allegreto lived in SHADOWHEART. I'm so glad you enjoy my books. I wrote UNCERTAIN MAGIC so very long ago that you probably know more about the characters than I do, so you can give them any future that you would like and I won't disagree!

#6 Remember, as I told Andreina, I wrote UNCERTAIN MAGIC a long, long time ago--1987. It was my second book and I found myself very tangled in a complicated plot that I had a hard time finding a way out of, I'll admit. I =think= I recall that Faelan's uncle was in legal control of the estate (not of Faelan himself) as a trust. Under British law, a trust could be set up under whatever conditions the person setting it up preferred. (Unlike the descent a noble title.) So the uncle could control the property, while Faelan had the title of earl. But in all honesty, I'm just guessing, because I don't remember!
Roddy can't hear Faelan's thoughts because it was all magic, done by the Fae, you know! *wink* So it was their idea, not mine.

#7 Thank you Patty. I always love to hear from readers that have a personal experience of what Christian endures. You have a great reading of the book, and thank you so much for your kind words.

#8 Francesca, it means a great deal to me to hear from readers who understand what Christian experienced. I was a child when my great-aunt suffered a stroke and could only say No No No. She would pull our hair, out of frustration, and I was afraid of her. I thought she had lost her mind (forgive me, I was very young,) but my grandmother, her sister, always insisted that she understood what was said, but couldn't talk. Many years later, I suddenly realized that was true, and it gave me the idea for FLOWERS FROM THE STORM.

#10 Maristella, I'm working on a couple of ideas, and have some chapters on a new book, but I am so slow! If you sign up for my mailing list, on my website, you will hear when I have anything to report. I'm happy you enjoyed my books.

#11 All good points, Libera. As I mentioned, I wrote the book long ago and don't plan to do a sequel. So readers can imagine anything. It's part of the fun!

#12 Thank you Simona! I'm very pleased that you enjoyed the book, and best wishes to you and your partner.

#17 Really? It must be the year of the Bull. Bulls have a certain comical aspect to them.
******
#18 You have a good idea of the style of LESSONS IN FRENCH, Annamaria. I wanted to do a lighter book, after one as dark as SHADOWHEART, in the style of Georgette Heyer.

# 22 Lady Vampiretta. I hope you enjoy them as well. Thank you!
