Dream heroes
Alcuni eroi da sogno...

# 47 (Tiziana)
The storylines of Robin Schone's books got me very curious - mature heroines are very unusual in romances, especially in these historical settings, as well as wounded and battered characters . In my opinion they are very relevant since the theme of violence and abuse against other people is always a discussed one . My compliments for being so daring to face these peculiar plots and characters... perhaps we have been a bit too used to perfect heroes and heroines!

Grazie Tiziana! I remember reading a medieval romance way back in the early 1980s and thinking the heroine’s mother . . . a woman who had repeatedly protected her daughter (the heroine) from her brutal father, at great physical expense to herself, I might add . . . was far more noble and intriguing than the beautiful young heroine. A sub-plot gave the mother her well-earned romance, but it was a minor part of the book, and we never got to actually see the intimate bonding between the mother and her knight. I just can’t believe that only the young and “beautiful” who have never been touched by life are worthy of sexual love. A reader posted a review of SCANDALOUS LOVERS at Amazon.com, saying that gorgeous “actresses like . . . Rene Russo (age 54) and Sharon Stone (47) are proof that fifty really is the new thirty.” I hadn’t looked at it quite like that - 50 being the new 30 - but here in America there are far more men and women who are over the age of 40 than there are under.
Baci,
