#45 Hi Robin, great
#45 Hi Robin,
great interview which answered a lot of questions I had. Here is one I have been thinking of since your poll for the cover of "Cry for Passion" in your blog.
Apart from Don :-) do men read your books and what kind of feedback do they give?

~waving at Brina~ Hi Brina! It’s so wonderful to “see” familiar faces! *smile*
Indeed men do read my books. I’ve gotten wonderful letters, both from American men and men from abroad. One man thanked me for portraying male abuse: He had been abused by his stepfather. One of the male models who frequents Romantic Times conventions told me his mother - who reads romance - thrust a copy of FASCINATED at him, and said he had to read Robin Schone’s novella “A Man and a Woman” (it’s about a 53-year-old man who had been castrated at the age of 13, and the woman with whom he finally experiences sexual love): He’s been a fan ever since. One man wrote that he found a copy of one of my books in the prison library. Recently a man emailed asking why THE LADY’S TUTOR hasn’t been made into a movie! He was fascinated by the character of Elizabeth, and thought the book would make a great period piece. While most of my male readers say they were “coerced” to read one of my books by a woman, one man wrote he had read an article about romance in TIME MAGAZINE that made him curious as to what all the fuss was about, so he sought out the romance section in a bookstore and after reading the backs of a lot of romance books, he settled on mine. He was totally surprised at how much he liked it, he wrote. And added something to which I completely agree: More men would read romances if the covers were more male friendly. Men, like women, want and need and hope for intimacy.
Baci tante!
ROBIN SCHONE
