Thank you for your excitement about my book, and yes, thank you to Elisa for introducing me to all of her readers.

When I was researching vampire legends, I found that there were many of them, from all over the world, in different time periods and places. But when I read a small article that had one sentence about a group of people vampires in Bosnia who believed they were vampires, descended from Judas Iscariot, that idea really resonated with me...and I decided to use that as the basis for my vampire mythology.

The idea of the vampires being afraid of silver, and crosses, comes from the Judas mythology. But I have created a more in-depth story about the vampires, including the different types of vampires in my books.

Since early Christianity has a great history in Rome, it then made sense to have the headquarters for my vampire hunters in Rome, and to build the history around this area. The headquarters for my vampire hunters (where Victoria travels to in the second book, Rises the Night) are in the catacombs in Rome. :-)

I didn't want to make the vampire mythology too different or unusual, because I wanted the focus or attention to be on the Venators (vampire hunters), and their stories...not so much the vampires. And so all of the history of the Venators is my own creation, and I think it's really fun!

Grazie per il tuo entusiasmo sul mio libro, e si, grazie ad Elisa per avermi introdotto ai lettori.

Mentre stavo facendo ricerche sulle leggende sui vampiri, ho trovato che ce ne erano molte, da tutto il mondo e tutte le epoche. Ma è stato quando ho letto un breve articolo che aveva una frase su un gruppo di persone in Bosnia che credevano di essere vampiri, discendenti da Giuda Iscariota, che l'idea mi è realmente risuonata in testa... ed ho deciso di usarla come punto di partenza per la mia mitologia sui vampiri.

L'idea dei vampiri che sono spaventati dall'argento, e dalle croci, arriva dalla mitologia su Giuda. Ma nei miei libri ho creato una storia più dettagliata sui vampiri, incluso i differenti tipi di vampiri.

Sin dall'inizio la Cristianità ha molta storia in Roma, quindi aveva senso stabilire la sede principale per i miei cacciatori di vampiri a Roma, e a costruire la storia intorno a questa zona. La sede principale per i miei cacciatori di vampiri (dove va Victoria nel mio secondo libro, Rises the Night) sono le catacombe a Roma. :-)

Non volevo rendere la mitologia sui vampiri troppo diversa o insolita, perchè volevo che l'attenzione fosse sui Venators (cacciatori di vampiri), e sulle loro storie... non troppo sui vampiri. E così dopo tutto la storia dei Venators è una mia creazione, e penso che sia davvero divertente!
