She begins to think of the Nazis as murderous demons especially these out of the world SS hunks that Himmler ordered to procreate with Aryan females; she had once desired these perfect male specimens. Desperate she turns to a blue eyed half-American for help in escaping the murderous treacherous regime, but begins to have doubts about he is who he claims to be as she considers he may be undercover Gestapo seeking to find doubters.

PERFIDIA is an entertaining WWII romantic suspense that grips the audience from the moment the Nazis invade Poland and never lets up until the final attempt to escape the violent regime. The story line is fast-paced as Sophie lands in one mess after another while too easily rescuing friends from the invincible all mighty Gestapo, who are every where, yet unable to deal with an inexperienced young female. Still historical romance fans will enjoy this vivid strong look from inside the Third Reich as seen mostly through the eyes of a former admirer who observing first hand the atrocities becomes an enemy of the state. Nel 1939 Sophie de Havilland lascia Londra per lasciarsi alle spalle il passato. Si dirige a Berlino, Germania per vivere con la zia. Tuttavia, è sorpresa di scoprire quanto lontano si è spinto Hitler e il Terzo Reich nel ricostruire un paese che sta riprendendosi dalla Grande Guerra e la successiva pace e la Grande Depressione.

Apprezza la vita notturna e specialmente i cabaret di Berlino con gli affascinanti ufficiali delle SS, ma sente anche storie di atrocità di persone inumane. La zia l'ha messa in guardia di tornare in Inghilterra ma Sophie non segue quello che ora crede essere un consiglio saggio. Incomincia a pensare ai Nazisti come demoni assassini specialmente quei muscolosi uomini delle SS a cui Himmler ordina di procreare con femmine ariane: lei una volta desiderava questi maschi perfetti. Disperata chiede aiuto ad un mezzo americano dagli occhi blu per fuggire al regime assassino, ma incomincia ad avere dubbi su quello che lui pretende di essere mentre lei considera l'ipotesi che lui potrebbe essere un agente sotto copertura della Gestapo alla ricerca di persone che mettono in questione il regime.

Perfidia è un romantic suspence ambientato durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale che avvince il lettore dal momento in cui i Nazisti invadono la Polonia e non lo lascia mai fino al tentativo finale di fuggire da un regime violento. La trama ha un ritmo veloce mentre Sophie atterra in un disastro dopo l'altro mentre troppo facilmente salva amici dall'invincibile Gestapo, che è dappertutto, tuttavia incapace di trattare con una giovane donna senza esperienza. Tuttavia le fan del romanzo storico apprezzeranno questa sguardo vivace dall'interno del Terzo Reich come visto per la maggior parte attraverso gli occhi di un precedente ammiratrice che osservando di prima mano le atrocità diventa un nemico dello stato. However, to gain ownership of Castle Wolfenbach in the Great Duchy of Baden, she must meet the legal stipulation that she marry the present master of the castle, Fenris von Wolfenbach.

Believing this won't be difficult, Celia decides to take her chances on the allegedly deformed recluse so she journeys to the Black Forest. However, she finds an angry and acrimonious Napoleonic war veteran, left crippled during the fight. He demands she leave for he fears the sunshine she brings into his dark world as he assumes Celia will be like everyone else and choose his perfect brother. Instead Celia continues to reach out to the heart of the beast as she has fallen in love with Fen although he keeps rejecting her.

CASTLE OF THE WOLF is a fun gothic romance with a delightful supernatural spin to freshen up the story line. Celia is an obstinate heroine refusing to give up on her beloved beast even when his tortured soul makes her wonder if he is also performing evil deeds. Although for the most part Sandra Schwab employs the rudiments of the classic gothic thriller, the gargoyles add enough of a spin so that sub-genre fans will appreciate the tale and root for Celia to find happiness and contentment. Con la morte del padre e il successivo maestoso funerale che disonora la sua memoria organizzato dalla bisbetica che è diventata sua parente per matrimonio, Celia sente di non aver altra scelta se non reclamare la sua eredità dato che vivere con il fratello e la moglie non è una possibilità. Tuttaiva, per guadagnare la proprietà di Castle Wolfenbach nel Gran Ducato di Baden, deve rispettate i voleri testamentari di sposare l'attuale maestro del castello, Fenris von Wolfenbach.

Credendo che non sia così difficile, Celia decide di prendere al volo l'occasione con il presumibilmente deforme recluso e si dirige verso la Foresta Nera. Tuttavia, trova un veterano delle Guerre Napoleoniche arrabbiato e pieno di acrimonia, rimasto zoppo dopo una battaglia. Lui le chiede di andarsene dato che teme la luce del sole che lei porta dentro il suo mondo di oscurità dato che dà per scontato che Celia sarà come chiunque altro e sceglierà il suo perfetto fratello. Invece Celia continua a cercare di conquistare il cuore della bestia dato che si è innamorata di Fen sebbene lui continui a respongerla.

Castle of the Wolf è una storia d'amore gotica con una deliziosa svolta sovrannaturale per rinfrescare la trama. Celia è una eroina ostinata che rifiuta di cedere la sua amata bestia anche quando l'anima tormentata di lui le fa domandarsi se lui sta facendo anche delle azioni malvagie. Sebbene per la maggior parte Sandra Schwab impieghi i rudimenti del thriller classico gotico, i gargoyle sono una svolta originale così che le fan del genere apprezzeranno il racconto e seguiranno Celia nel trovare felicità e soddisfazione.
